Compositions
Music begins with song and the thousands of ways to harmonize it. I wonder if we have truly exhausted the possibilities of tonality, as we are often told. We have not, as long as one knows how to bend its rules (polytonality, modes, dissonances…) without breaking them.
The Baron in the Trees was inspired by Italo Calvino’s novel. Little Cosimo, after being punished by his parents, decides to climb up a tree and never comme back to the ground. It was broadcast on the French National Radio in may 2006.
